Jakarta –
Former KPK investigator AKP Stepanus Robin Pattuju (SRP), it was stated that the former Kutai Kartanegara (Kukar) Regent, Rita Widyasari, gave a bribe of Rp 5.1 billion to Robin in relation to arranging a judicial review (PK) regarding Rita’s money laundering crime case. The KPK will investigate the allegation, because Rita and Robin were allegedly introduced by the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Azis Syamsuddin.
“The last thing I have to say is related to the giving of bribes from Widyasari and AZ (Azis) to the SRP, of course, this is still in the stage we will explore, related to the allegations,” said KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri, in a press conference at the Gedung S.P. KPK, Saturday (25/9/2021).
Firli said the KPK would work in accordance with legal provisions. This is stated in Article 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code in terms of valid evidence.
“Because of this, the KPK works cannot be separated from legal provisions. If we talk about evidence, of course we must adhere to Article 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code, there are 5 valid pieces of evidence and our job is to understand well what evidence adequacy means. regardless of what he did by law number 8 of 81 regarding criminal procedural law, which is in article 183,” explained Firli.
“There it is mentioned that the judge cannot decide a matter except with his conviction with at least two pieces of evidence, so the KPK works basically that way,” he added.
In the case of TPPU Rita, the KPK prosecutor mentioned Azis Syamsuddin introduced AKP Robin to the former Regent of Kutai Kartangera (Kukar), Rita Widyasari. Azis is also said to have communicated with Rita Widyasari.
Initially, the prosecutor said that Robin and Maskur Husain went to the Class II-A Tangerang prison to meet Rita Widyasari after being introduced by Azis. At the meeting, Robin said that he was a KPK investigator by showing the identity card of a KPK investigator and introducing Maskur Husain as a lawyer.
