Investigation of alleged corruption cases related to Formula E Jakarta KPK is still doing it. How far has it progressed?
KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata said KPK investigators were still gathering information regarding various aspects of the alleged corruption case. KPK investigators are also looking into holding similar activities in other countries.
“So far the investigation process is ongoing and we are still looking for information, for example regarding how Formula E is organized in other countries. Is there any kind of commitment fee and so forth. We are also trying to ask for information from the party who received the transfer of funds from the DKI Provincial Government,” said Alexander at his office, Jalan Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday (26/4/2022).
The same information was obtained by KPK investigators from JakPro as the organizer of the electric car race. Alexander also said that information from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) stated that local governments should not use the budget for events with business purposes.
“Of course later we will continue to explore including from JakPro as the organizer, how it will be implemented, the development of the plan to organize Formula E, how the study will be, for example, whether the results of the feasibility study are indeed projects or activities. event feasible or profitable in terms of business, right, this is a business right,” said Alexander.
“The Ministry of Home Affairs has also stated that the local government budget should not be used for event whose purpose is business, so the implementation must be B2B, so it cannot be financed with the APBD budget, now there is actually information from the Regional Government, from the Ministry of Home Affairs when the DKI Provincial Government asks for input,” added Alexander.
In addition, Alexander highlighted the payment from the DKI Provincial Government for the implementation of Formula E DKI. This is a concern of the KPK regarding the term of office of the Governor of DKI Jakarta which will end this year.
“We see all of these various aspects, what is clear is that currently Rp 560 billion has been paid for the implementation for the next 3 years, 2022, 2023, 2024, and that exceeds the current governor’s period. November, yes, 2022,” said Alexander.
According to Alexander, the KPK will explore all possibilities to investigate allegations of corruption related to Formula E. The KPK will explore whether there is a state loss or not.
“There is no provision that an official may not bind a contract that uses a budget that passes through the government concerned, there is such a provision. Of course later we will investigate this by asking for expert information, how about the state losses, have there been state losses, ” he explained.
Alex says fee it is still in the form of a down payment. Alex confirmed that currently the KPK is still working to find information and evidence.
“Because it is still an advance payment, the prepaid fee is still recorded as an asset, it is recorded as an asset in the DKI Provincial Government’s financial report, it has not been included in the cost. How will the financing be? a third of the cost, because the cost is for three years,” he said.
“So what will be the form of accountability? We will see later how the Sports Service is responsible for the payments it makes, including the financing mechanism. For what reason, the money came from the regional treasury, not from JakPro, we are still investigating this, in the process “There is still a lot of information that we need to explore further regarding the payment mechanism and implementation of Formula E itself,” he continued.
