KPK Forces Pick Up Mardani Maming: Suspect Not Cooperative!

The KPK forcibly picked up the former Regent of Tanah Bumbu, Mardani H Maming. The forced pick-up was done because Mardani Maming uncooperative.

“Today (25/7) the investigative team conducted a search of an apartment in Jakarta in order to forcibly pick up the suspect in the alleged corruption in the mining business license in Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan,” said Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri, Monday (25/7/2022) .

He said Mardani had been summoned by the KPK twice. According to him, Mardani was not present until he was considered uncooperative.

“We have sent a second summons to the suspect to be present on July 21, 2022, but the suspect was not present and we assess the suspect as uncooperative,” he said.

Ali emphasized that the pretrial lawsuit filed by Mardani Maming would not stop the investigation process. He stressed that every case will be handled thoroughly.

“The pretrial process is only to test the formal requirements for legitimacy, not to examine the substance of the investigation and of course we respect the process,” he said.
