Deputy for Enforcement NCP Karyoto gave an explanation regarding the Main Experts of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Ali Mochtar Ngabalin not secured at the time OTT Edhy Prabowo. In fact, Ngabalin was part of Edhy’s entourage from the United States (US).
Karyoto said that even though he was in the same group as Edhy, it was not certain that Ngabalin was involved in a series of corruption cases in the export of fry. Because, he said, Ngabalin’s participation in the US was in an advisory capacity in carrying out the KKP’s work.
“After all, if one group is not sure … His name is there as an advisor, yes, there is a comparative study in America, it has something to do with the meaning of work in comparative studies,” said Karyoto, to reporters, Tuesday (1 / 12/2020).
Karyoto said NCP have not yet studied the alleged flow of funds to Ngabalin. According to him, the KPK will collect evidence whether there is an alleged flow of funds from Edhy Prabowo to Ngabalin.
“If possible, it’s like someone said Ali Ngabalin given something that is a gift, for example, it is clear that the category is different. Except, in tracing there are portions of the incoming fund flow and it is said to be routine, so we have to question it, “he said.
“But so far we are collecting evidence whether there is one there or not. But the problem of the flow of funds has not yet been explored,” he continued.
As is known, Ali Mochtar Ngabalin admitted to being part of Edhy Prabowo’s entourage, who at that time was still Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, while on duty in the United States (US). Ngabalin was not questioned by the KPK and Edhy.
“Yes, one plane, one team, one group from Jakarta, then to Hawaii. One agenda is the same,” said Ngabalin when contacted, Wednesday (25/11).
Ngabalin emphasized that the KPK did not ask for information. According to Ngabalin, he was not included in the list whose statements were required by the KPK regarding the Edhy Prabowo case.
“Why is Bang Ali not included? Because the KPK has a basis for people to ask for information. Kan Bang Ali is not an official who makes a commitment, not an official who uses finance, and the KPK has preliminary data,” he said.
