Mayor of Tasikmalaya Budi Budiman officially detained NCP. Budi is a suspect in the case of alleged bribery to former Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) official Yaya Purnomo.
“On this day the KPK detained the brother of BBD (Budi Budiman), the Mayor of Tasikmalaya for the 2012-2017 and 2017-2022 periods in a case of alleged bribery related to the 2018 Tasikmalaya City special allocation funds,” said KPK Deputy Chair, Nurul Ghufron, Friday (23/10) / 2020).
Budi will be detained for 20 days at the KPK branch detention center Kavling C1 from today until 11 November 2020. To implement a health protocol for preventing COVID-19, Budi will be isolated first.
The KPK named Budi as a suspect for allegedly giving bribes related to his application for the Tasikmalaya Special Allocation Fund (DAK). The total alleged bribery amounted to Rp. 400 million.
“The suspect allegedly gave a total of Rp. 400 million in connection with the administration of the DAK (Special Allocation Fund) for the City of Tasikmalaya for the 2018 fiscal year to Yaya Purnomo and friends,” said KPK Public Relations Head Febri Diansyah at his office, Jalan Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday (25/4).
Budi is suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph 1 letter a or b or Article 13 of the Corruption Act in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. Budi is the 7th suspect in the vortex of the alleged bribery case related to the DAK administration.
