Ubed said the clarification process lasted for 2 hours. He also brought additional documents that were not specifically submitted to strengthen the report.

“Clarification to clarify our complaint so as not to cause interpretation,” said Ubed to reporters at the KPK Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (26/1).

Ubed did not provide details on the subject matter of the clarification because the KPK was still in the process. He also fully entrusts the process to the institution which is now led by Firli Bahuri.

“We believe in the KPK to carry out the trust of this country, continue this process in accordance with the Law, we respect the KPK,” he said.

“We believe in this republic there are [asas] equality before the law“Everyone is equal before the law and we also hold the principle of the presumption of innocence,” Ubed added.

Previously, a UNJ lecturer who was also a ’98 activist, Ubedilah Badrun, reported Gibran and Kaesang to the KPK on suspicion of corruption and money laundering. The report is related to their business relationship with PT SM.

Gibran, who is currently the mayor of Solo, admitted that he had no problem with the report. He stated that he was ready to give information when summoned by the KPK.

“Reported, please report. If it’s wrong, we are ready,” said Gibran some time ago.

President Jokowi’s eldest son admitted that he did not know anything about the case being prosecuted. Since running for mayor of Solo in 2019, Gibran has delegated his business affairs to his younger brother, Kaesang Pangarep.

“The problem of forest burning later belongs (asks) Kaesang unit (only),” he said.

Meanwhile, until this news was written, CNNIndonesia.com had not received a statement from Kaesang regarding the report at the KPK.
