KPI Now Again Says Suspected Perpetrators of Employee Harassment Released

Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) stated that a number of alleged perpetrators of harassing fellow male employees had been released. They are currently undergoing a police investigation.

“He was relieved of his duties. Released him from all his work. So I don’t want to use the word temporarily disabled,” said the head of the central KPI, Agung Suprio, when asked for confirmation, Sunday (5/8/2021).

“We have to process the investigation first. Only later will we decide on the results,” he added.

So are the victims. Agung also said that the victim was not deactivated, but released from duty.

“Oh no (deactivated) dong. We actually protect him. In the current condition we have to recover his trauma,” said Agung.

Previously, on Thursday (2/9), KPI stated that it had released the victims and alleged perpetrators of harassment. This step was taken so that both parties focus on the process of handling the case.

“Since today (Thursday (2/9), ed) the victim and the suspect have been given release from their duties so that they can undergo internal and external processes,” KPI Deputy Chairman Mulyo Hadi Purnomo told reporters, Thursday (2/9) night.

However, on the same day another KPI Commissioner, Nuning Rodiyah, said a number of suspected perpetrators were still active. KPI has not been able to make further decisions.

“Their status is non-PNS KPI employees. If they are active or not, they are still active. Why? Because we can’t take any action before we get more complete information,” said Nuning at the KPI building, Jalan Juanda, Central Jakarta. , Thursday (2/9/2021).
