/ world today news/ “Kozloduy” NPP has been brought to a loss for the first time in its 40-year history. This is evident from the company’s report for the first half of 2013, “Trud” reported.
The headquarters reports 5.8 mln. BGN loss from its activity for the first 6 months of the year, given that for the same period last year there were 90 mln. BGN profit.
According to the report, the main reason for the sharp deterioration in the financial result is the 13% decrease in electricity production compared to the first 6 months of 2012.
“Ever since Kozloduy NPP began to make independent financial reports in 2001, it has always been profitable,” the head of the Bulgarian Atomic Forum, Ivan Hinovski, who is also the former head of the plant’s board, commented to Trud. He was categorical that even before this there was no evidence that the first nuclear plant had operated at a loss.
