The investigating team has submitted a revised charge sheet to the court in the case of Panthirankau resident Harsheena getting stuck in her stomach during the Kozhikode maternity surgery. Kozhikode Medical College Gynecology Department Asst. Professor Dr. CK Ramesan, PG Doctor Dr. M Shahna, nurses M Rahna and KG Manju were accused and the list was submitted to the Kunnamangalam court. Facing the possibility of arrest, all four started trying for anticipatory bail. Section 338 has been imposed for offenses including negligence in treatment, punishable by two years imprisonment and fine. In Harsheena’s complaint, an application was filed in the court to exclude the principal of the medical college, the superintendent of the mother and child care center and the head of the gynecology department from the list of defendants. In 2017, Govt. Harsheena’s complaint was that the scissors got stuck during the third delivery surgery at the Medical College Hospital. Both the committees of the health department did not find where the fine came from. After this, the investigation was started under the leadership of ACP A Sudarshan of the Medical College. Govt. The medical board had rejected the police finding that the scissors were caught from the medical college. But the police got legal advice that they can proceed with the action.
