Russian striker Ilya Kovalchuk will continue his career at Washington Capitals. The metropolitan club said it had an exchange with the Montreal Canadiens, as a result of which Canadians in return received a peak in the third round of the 2020 draft.
Note that Kovalchuk joins in the “Washington” to the Russian team players Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Dmitry Orlov and Ilya Samsonov.
Kovalchuk during the current season moved to Montreal from the Los Angeles Kings.
The 36-year-old forward has played 39 matches in the regular season this season, in which he scored 9 goals and made 13 assists. In total, Kovalchuk spent 919 matches in the NHL and scored 872 (442 + 430) points.
