First substitution and a goal right away. What did you think when the puck bounced off your skate and into the net during a break?
I was mainly hoping that the goal would stand. I didn’t kick the puck, I just braked, so I believed. I didn’t want to celebrate after the goal, but my hands were a little off.
Have you heard anything from former teammates?
Yeah, they kept yelling at me, I yelled at them too, but in a good way. Sometimes we exchanged a few words on the ice when the game was stopped. A strange feeling, but I enjoyed it.
What is the difference between Sparta’s game, which is third in a row after six wins, and Boleslav, which still can’t get away from the bottom half of the table?
Sparta can score a goal more easily. Both teams work exactly the same, the details decide. Even now Boleslav had more of the game. But the boys need to push themselves more in goal. They rearranged the situation several times. When I played there, I did exactly the same thing (smiles). But if they perform like this, they will collect enough points. I hope they do well.
Can you tell on the ice when the team is at the top of the table?
Definitely, mainly on the psyche. When we lose a match, we don’t have to worry about anything. While in tenth and twelfth place, each loss is much more noticeable. If they were cool and we weren’t, the result could be completely different.
Seven games for Sparta and already six Canadian points. How do you feel at the new club so far?
I got used to it in the beginning, it wasn’t the same. But I feel better and better. Teammates also help. It works for the team, so when the individuals are not doing well, we still dig up the wins. The cabin is great. She is at ease. Hopefully it will continue like this.
How did you enjoy the traditional Sparta pays tribute event, which received the highest attendance of the season of 15,147 spectators?
It was great. Too many people came. I like such events, hopefully there will be more of them.
