Kalidou Koulibaly close to Chelsea. Bek Napoli that more or less confirms that the move can be completed in the near future.
Koulibaly is one of the main centre-backs Chelsea have been seriously eyeing this summer. The Blues indeed chasing a number of names to strengthen the sector, considering they have just lost Andreas Christensen and Antonio Ruediger at the same time.
Besides Koulibaly, there are also the names of Nathan Ake (Manchester City), Jules Kunde (Sevilla), and Matthijs de Ligt (Juventus). Well, among the short list, Koulibaly and Ake are the two that are relatively easier to get.

Especially Koulibaly, this Senegal defender is in the last year of his contract with Napoli. So Napoli are in a not-so-strong position to keep him considering it’s the last summer to sell him at a pretty good price.
A number of reports including that of The Athletic journalist David Ornstein reveal that a deal between Chelsea and Napoli is very close. The Blues have offered a proposal worth a total of 40 million Euros for the 31-year-old defender, who has personally agreed to join.
Kalidou Koulibaly himself also opened his voice about the opportunity to move. He implied that his transfer could materialize in the near future.
“I can confirm later, but now the talks are on the right track,” he said when asked by journalists Eurosport Romain Collet-Gaudin.
Koulibaly was actually also targeted by Chelsea, when the west London club was still being managed by Maurizio Sarri. It was under Sarri’s direction that the French-born player shone as a defender who was adept at playing the ball from behind.
