Koulař Tomáš Staněk finished eighth at a busy meeting in Zagreb. His longest attempt in the competition, which a day before the main program of the Continental Tour gold category race, measured 20.41 meters. The current world ball sovereign Ryan Crouser won, setting the meeting record to 22.84 meters.

The Czech record holder Staněk had three valid attempts, all in 20 meters. He missed the last litter. The two-time Olympic champion and world record holder Crouser followed Wednesday’s triumph in the Diamond League with six 22-meter attempts.
He beat the second Thomas Walsh from New Zealand by 45 centimeters. Acting world champion Joe Kovacs finished third (21.70).
