We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Clearson Shinjuku and everyone who cares about and supports Kota Morimura, for your continued support.
I, Kota Morimura, have decided to end my career as a soccer player after the 2023 season.
I feel a sense of regret and sadness about quitting soccer, which I have played for 30 years since I was 5 years old, and I still have a lot of emotions going through my head without being able to sort them out, but I have no hesitation in making this decision.
I have come to this decision because I believe that I am unable to contribute to the club in terms of my abilities and that I am not up to the standards of a giver on the pitch.
Needless to say, as someone who came from the J.League, contributing to the team with overwhelming performances on the pitch was a non-negotiable condition for me as a player.
It took a lot of courage to face this fact head on. However, when I saw the best teammates who played with passion and the people who supported Clearson with all their heart even in difficult situations, I felt that I could continue to use my role as an important player. I spent my days feeling that the conflict was growing.
If you say that you have notified yourself that you are out of action, it will be more honest, and it may sound a little better. On the other hand, it is also true that my passion for playing soccer and my determination to promote this club have diminished.
I sympathized with Criason’s philosophy of using soccer as a means to bring prosperity to society, and I joined with the determination to help the club advance to the J.League, but I retired before I reached my goal. It will be.
Over the past three years, I have been able to experience a richness that I was not able to experience when I was a professional player, through the philosophy of Clearson and the aim of balancing work and soccer.
What I remember most easily is the result of being promoted to the JFL, but more than that, I learned from soccer the important things that will remain in my heart over the past three years spent with my favorite friends. It has expanded.
My career continues. This is a very important thing that I learned when I came to Clearson through the business of dealing with the careers of people called “human resources.”
What I learned from playing soccer will definitely apply to other places as well. There will come a time when the dots will connect.
Starting next year, I would like to work to create the future as a staff member at Clearson Academy. Although he will be retiring midway through his ambitions, he would like to devote all his remaining ambitions to developing human resources who can bring prosperity to society.
“Soccer is a sport that turns boys into adults and turns adults into gentlemen.”
This is a famous quote by Deadmar Cramer, who is called the father of Japanese soccer. I saw this in a teaching textbook and fell in love with it. Through his training, he hopes to continue learning and pursuing the value of sports.
Lastly, I would like to thank my family, friends, former teammates, and coaches, FC Tokyo for raising me through the academy, Mito Holyhock, Giravanz Kitakyushu, Avispa Fukuoka, and FC Machida Zelvia for giving me the opportunity to play. Thank you very much to everyone involved with the club and to all the fans and supporters. It was the best soccer life.
As someone who was fascinated by soccer, I will continue to be part of a soccer family that loves soccer.
Thank you for your continued support.
