“Kostya Saphirre” and “MDNS & Chord Man” win in Radio Naba’s electronic music competition / Article

Out of the 63 works submitted to the competition, the representatives of the Latvian jury nominated 10 finalists, who were handed over for evaluation to the listeners and the foreign jury. The winners of the first stage of the competition were “Voices of Patile”, Tom Aunin, “MAKEMAKE”, Cuckoo, “MDNS & Chord Man”, Ellis Raily, “Cliche”, astron, Kostya Saphirre and “Rasa logos”. It should be emphasized that the Latvian jury evaluated the submitted works without knowing either the authors or the titles of the work.

On the LSM.lv portal, until March 2, everyone interested could evaluate the participants of the competition and determine their favorite. The greatest sympathy of the listeners was won by the joint project “MDNS & Chords Man” by DJ and event organizer Arnis Apsīte and Ivars Mednis. The winners of the audience vote received a drum machine “Erica Synths x Sonic Potions LXR-02“The winner of the international jury’s vote for the Kostya Saphirre Award received a drum machine.”Thunder HD-01The winners were announced live on March 4 by Kinetic, featuring all the finalists.

The competition was organized by the techno music program “Kinetic” together with “Radio Naba” and the Latvian electronic music instrument manufacturer “Erica Synths”. Kinetic is a techno music show that airs on Radio Naba every other week on Fridays at 10 p.m. The show is hosted by DJ 2B.
