The bull, the bronze sculpture created by the sculptor Konstantinos Kazakos, took place at the intersection of the Ioannina-Arta National Road at the height of the Epirus Palace hotel.
The large sculpture arrived in our city about 2 years ago and since then it was waiting for the creation of the center, so that it could be placed on a pedestal of the same size with the inscription “APEI ROTAN”.
The 3-meter high and 4-meter long bull will be a trademark at one of the entrances to the town.
The Bull is considered to be the ancient emblem of Epirus and was depicted on a coin (silver two-drachm) during the time of the Common of Epirus (232-167 BC). The bull as a symbol is used today by PAS Ioannina, the historic 8th Infantry Division and many other organizations in the city of Ioannina and Epirus.
