Kosovo leave the field in Bucharest due to singing about Serbia

Kosovo leaves the field in Romania

Football NOSyesterday, 11:42 p.m

Kosovo players left the field during injury time in the Nations League match against Romania on Friday night. This happened at a score of 0-0 after a rousing “Serbia, Serbia” was chanted in the stadium in Bucharest. The match was then abandoned as the Kosovo players refused to return.

The Kosovars first complained to the referee and then decided to leave for the changing rooms. This is not the first time, last year an away match against Kosovo in Romania was stopped due to provocative chants and the display of flags with, among other things, the text “Kosovo belongs to Serbia”.

The police report to the Romanian department

Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia in 2008, but not all countries recognize this. So is Romania. UEFA recognizes Kosovo as an independent country and is therefore allowed to play in the League of Nations.

Kosovo had to beat the leader Romania to keep the first place in the group and promote to category B. It is not yet clear what will happen to the final result of this game.
