SK IE Technologi is to build a third and fourth factory in Poland. The investment is to cost as much as 1.13 trillion South Korean won, i.e. – PLN 3.9 billion.

“PB” writes that it is the largest investment in the company’s history. Thanks to it, the plant in Dąbrowa Górnicza will be its largest in the world. The total expenditure of SK IE Technology in Poland will exceed EUR 1.5 billion (PLN 6.9 billion).

The total capacity of the factory in Dąbrowa Górnicza will amount to 860 million square meters of separators for lithium-ion batteries per year. Together with the capacities of the two phases of investments already underway (SK IE Technology calls them factories 1 and 2), the construction of which has been announced by the concern in 2019 and 2020, Koreans will produce 1.54 billion square meters of separators in Poland.

“This will be more than half of the annual production in the world (with factories in Korea and China), which by 2024 will grow to 2.73 billion square meters.” – writes “PB”.
