The national soccer team defeated Japan and achieved the feat of winning three consecutive gold medals for the first time in Asian Games history.
Even in a difficult situation where the first goal was lost to Japan, the players’ fighting spirit and persistence led to a comeback victory.

The national team unexpectedly gave up the first goal to Japan, who met again in the finals after five years.
Two minutes into the first half, the side defense was shaken and suffered a blow.
The national team, which gave up a goal for the first time in this competition, did not lose its composure, however.
In the 27th minute of the first half, midfielder Baek Seung-ho shook up the Japanese defense with a brilliant dribble, and then Jung Woo-young headed a cross from Hwang Jae-won to equalize.
It was Jung Woo-young’s 8th goal, making him the top scorer.
The national team gradually put pressure on Japan, led by ace Lee Kang-in.
In the end, in the 11th minute of the second half, Cho Young-wook, who received a pass from Jung Woo-young, scored the comeback goal.
The national team did well to block Japan’s last-minute offensive, winning 2-1 and winning the gold medal.
It was a thrilling moment as we became the first Asian Games soccer team to win the title three times in a row.
