The Korean Civilization Promotion Agency celebrated the Seoul Dukgi (Dukshinsa) Chuhyang Daeje in front of the Seoul Han River Dukgi (in front of the Seoul Capital Museum) at 12:00 on October 23.
The Agency for the Promotion of Korean Civilization said, “Ttukseom on the Han River in Seoul was a place where Joseon naval forces were trained. The Joseon Dynasty founded Deoksinsa Temple here to enshrine King Chiucheon, the warrior god of the Korean people, and erected a flag. was established to honor King Chiucheon. In the barracks where the spirits of ancestors resided, soldiers were trained and prepared for national crises. “He pledged his will to protect the country by offering offerings to King Chiucheon, the god of the Deoksin, twice in the spring and fall at Gyeongchip and Sanggang,” he said. He emphasized, “We decided to celebrate Chuhyangdae at this place where the flag is located in order to increase pride by establishing the identity of history and traditional culture.”
On this day, there was a traditional martial arts demonstration at Chuhyangdae at Duksinsa Temple.

The Korean Civilization Promotion Agency said, “The Seoul Hangang River is a place where Joseon’s naval forces were trained. The Joseon Dynasty established the Dukgi (申祀) to enshrine the Korean military god Chiyou Cheonwang (蚩尤天王) here, and erected a Dukgi (旗) to worship Chiyou Cheonwang. In the barracks where the spirits of ancestors resided, soldiers were trained to prepare for national crises. He introduced, “We pledged our will to protect the country by paying homage to the god of the Dukshin, Chiwoocheongwang, twice in the spring and fall, on the days of Gyeongchip and Sanggang,” and emphasized, “We have restored the history of the Dukshinsa Temple to secure a centripetal force for a wealthy and strong country and peace for the people, and we have celebrated the Chuhyang Daeche here at the Dukgi to establish the subjectivity of national spirit, correct history, and traditional culture, and to increase self-esteem.”
