Korea Racing Authority, ‘Ministry of Employment and Labor Joint Safety Festival’ held

[뉴스체인지=오혜인 기자] The Korea Racing Authority (Chairman Jeong Ki-hwan) held a joint safety festival with the Anyang Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (Chief Lee Hao-song) and the Gyeonggi West Branch of the Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Branch Manager Kim Hyeong-seok).

The safety culture spread festival was held on the largest scale ever for two days, with the participation of the public, private and public sectors, including the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, and win-win companies.

First, on October 29th, a campaign to spread safety culture was conducted for local residents at Gwacheon Baro Market. Gwacheon Baro Market is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Racing Authority and is the largest agricultural direct sales market in the country with an average of 8,000 local residents visiting daily. Eight experience booths were operated at the entrance of Baro Market to provide emergency rescue training, customized exercise prescriptions, safety culture promotion, and roulette prize events for visitors and employees of partner companies.

On November 2nd, we operated an experience booth at the lawn plaza of Seoul Horse Racing Park and promoted the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s “Four Major Ban Campaigns.” At the same time, safety culture was spread in a more fun way through safety quizzes and video viewing using the large electronic display board Vision 127. At the same time, on the same day, executives and employees of the Anyang Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Safety Culture Implementation Promotion Team attended and strengthened their will to spread safety culture through sharing safety promotion activities and deriving ideas.

Lee Jeong-yeol, head of the Industrial Accident Prevention Guidance Department at the Anyang Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, who attended the day, expressed strong support for the spread of safety culture in the Korean Racing Authority, saying, “The three organizations will continue to cooperate and actively help each other to build a safety net for the local community.” .

In addition, a post-examination of the safety and health management system (KOSHA-MS) was conducted for two days starting October 30th. The Korea Racing Authority has been judged ‘adequate’ for four consecutive years in three areas (safety and health management system, safety and health management activities, and interviews with safety and health officials). As a result, the Korea Racing Authority has once again proven to the outside world that it is an organization that continues to promote safety management and has established a safety and health management system at an internationally accepted level.

Ki-Hwan Jeong, Chairman of the Korea Racing Association, said, “Safety is the highest value pursued by the Korea Racing Association,” and added, “We will continue to make efforts to ensure that all executives and employees, workers of partner companies, customers, and local residents can enjoy horse racing in a safe and pleasant environment.”

Meanwhile, the Korea Racing Authority achieved the feat of being judged ‘compliant’ for four consecutive years in the safety and health management system (KOSHA-MS) post-examination conducted by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Chairman Jong-ju Ahn).
