The Korea Internet Newspaper Association (Chairman Eui-chun Lee) announced the winners of the ‘2024 Internet Newspaper Media Ethics Awards’ on the 24th. This event was sponsored by the Korea Press Foundation.

The Korea Internet Newspaper Association formed the Journalism Ethics Awards Review Committee (Chairman Choi Jong-cheon, CEO of Global Economy Newspaper) and appointed external judges from media-related organizations such as the Journalism Society of Korea and the Journalists Association of Korea to conduct a three-week review from the end of September. did it As a result, 4 award-winning works were selected in the media category and 12 award-winning works were selected in the journalist category.

The grand prize in the media category was awarded to Sisa Week (CEO Hyeong-woon Lee). Sisa Week received high praise for consistently complying with the Code of Journalism and Language Ethics Guidelines, and for faithfully implementing leading journalistic ethics through the source attribution system and article revision history system. In particular, the efforts and achievements of the ‘Journalistic Ethics Practice Wrong Answer Notes’ program, which has been implemented since 2024, were recognized.

‘Journalistic Ethics Practice Wrong Answer Note’ analyzes through case studies cases where journalistic ethics were insufficiently practiced or ethics regulations were not followed throughout the entire reporting process, from article planning to reporting, article writing, and publication, and provides current information to improve ethical journalism. It is Week’s own institutional action program.

The grand prize in the reporter category was awarded to Newspim’s reporting team consisting of reporters Beom-ju Kim, Young-sang Oh, Seong-hoon Jeong, Hoon Lee, Hyun-do Song, Ji-jin Ji, Do-kyung Shin, Jeong-in Shin, Sang-hyun Kim, and Ga-hee Kim. Starting in January 2024, this team will focus on youth-related topics and provide a cool-headed diagnosis of the reality of Korean society, while also presenting a variety of policy alternatives through overseas coverage in countries such as France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Japan. was evaluated. Furthermore, by applying strict ethical standards, we directly address hot issues in our society, such as building a housing ladder, career breaks, shared childcare, the dual structure of the labor market, and pension reform, and expand the public debate through various channels such as Newspim TV. In the media sector, the Excellence Award in the institutional sector went to Sunday Newspaper, and the Excellence Award in the operational sector went to News Penguin and MS Today.
