The announcement was made by His Excellency Jo Pyong Chol, until then Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in Angola, during a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António.

That afternoon, Ambassador Jo Pyong Chol went to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Luanda, to say goodbye to the head of Angolan diplomacy, stating that by decision of its capital, Pyongyang, the Embassy of this Asian country in Angola is closed and that the diplomat returns to his country of origin.
