– Korea Development Bank met with the Asiana Airlines labor union. This meeting was the first time in about a month after the official announcement of the Korean Air Asiana Airlines integration plan on the 16th of last month, but the two sides did not achieve any significant results.

According to the Korea Development Bank and the Asiana Airlines union on the 15th, the KDB held a meeting with the Asiana Airlines union and the Asiana Airlines pilots union at Asiana Airlines headquarters in Gangseo-gu, Seoul the afternoon of the previous day. Vice-Chief Choi Sang-Hyun attended Saneun, and Asiana Airlines’ union chairman Shim Gyu-deok and pilot’s union leader Kim Young-gon attended both unions.

The meeting was concluded when the two unions belatedly accepted the request for an open dialogue from the bank on the 27th of last month. At the time, the KDB proposed that “to play a responsible role as the entity of implementing the aviation industry restructuring plan, we openly request dialogue with the Asiana Airlines union, Asiana Airlines pilots union, and Asiana Airlines open pilots union”, but both unions rejected this. The meeting was missed. Unlike the two unions, the open pilots’ union is known to have a positive position on the plan to integrate the two major airlines.

At this meeting, the two unions are known to have requested that the Korea Air, Asiana Airlines, the union, the San-Eun, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the Ministry of Strategy and Finance all gather in one place to form a tripartite council to discuss integration. It is known that the Bank of Korea replied that it would be difficult to organize a meeting, but would suggest it to the government. Both sides just agreed to continue the conversation in the future.

An official from Saneun said, “We discussed the composition of the labor-management council, but the discussion on the composition of the council was ended, and the discussion was ended. It was the first time we met, so we couldn’t share any other new talks. “He said.
