Konny and Manuela Reimann publish their book
Konny talks about his childhood
It was marked by terrible violence
Konny Reimann has been a big celebrity since “Goodbye Germany” and “The Reimanns”. The cowboy with a mustache and a gentle look didn’t always have an easy life.
True love:
Konny Reimann: “Beating was the order of the day for us.”
In his book “Just Do It” Konny Reimann reveals that he was a victim of domestic violence. “Bild” publishes the first passages about his bad childhood. His mother had him when he was just 16 years old and he grew up under the violent hand of his stepfather:
„The first male figure I consciously noticed was my stepfather Uwe. He was […] not a good person“, writes Konny in his book. He continues: “Beating was the order of the day for us.“
Konny had to witness a lot of bad things as a child: “Through him, I came into contact with brute force as a small child.” One moment in particular stands out in his memory:
„One of my earliest memories […]I’m maybe four years old, standing on the bed […] and has to watch as my stepfather brutally beats my little brother, a toddler. He held my brother by his feet, upside down, in the air and hit him with full force with a belt. Yes, folks, those were terrible times.“
More about the Reimanns:
He defended himself
The cult emigrant himself also had to endure a lot. He writes: “Once he hit me in the face with his fist so brutally that blood even splattered on the wall.“
„This violence happened so often that I can remember that at some point the beatings no longer hurt. I just let it happen over and over again“, he continues.
His mother could not protect her children from their violent stepfather. At the age of 17, Konny Reimann finally moved out and started karate – the horror was finally over.
Konny is now a real family man, although his difficult childhood has of course left its mark on him.
The book “Just Do It” by Konny and Manu Reimann has been for sale since October 5, 2023.
