Königstein school discussions on Facebook, TikTok and Co

Königstein (kw) – A well-known expert on the subject of social media will be giving a lecture at the Taunusgymnasium Königstein: Prof. Dr. Christian Montag, Professor of Molecular Psychology at the University of Ulm, will speak on Wednesday, September 11th, at 7:30 p.m. in the theater room of the Taunusgymnasium on the topic “You belong to us! The psychological strategies of Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat and Co. and their effects.”

The big internet companies are doing everything they can to make us and our children immerse themselves in the internet. We regularly underestimate the time we spend on online platforms and leave behind countless digital footprints that make the tech companies rich. Online platforms and computer games have done away with any natural end, and conversely our everyday lives are becoming increasingly fragmented by the constant digital interruptions.

Children and young people in particular underestimate these dangers enormously. Prof. Montag’s lecture shows the psychological consequences of excessive use, especially of social networks, and examines the strategies of companies.

The Taunusgymnasium invites everyone interested to this lecture, followed by a discussion. Admission is free.
