Koniecpol. Massive fire at waste processing plant
In the hall of the Koniecpolski plant, machines and materials for the production of alternative fuels (foils, textiles, plastics, wood) were on fire.
The fire also spread to the adjacent mining dump. At its peak, over 40 fire brigades from the Silesian province were involved in the extinguishing operation.
Koniecpol is located in the Częstochowa district. Firefighters from OSP Koniecpol II ask for caution due to “rising toxic smoke”.
PSP measured the atmosphere for the presence of hazardous substances. The tests did not indicate a threat to local residents.
