El Al returns to operating the line to Tokyo. As I recall, the line to Tokyo was launched about a year ago and operated seasonally only, during the tourist season to Japan from March to June. From now on the line will operate throughout the year.
The first renewed flight to Japan is expected to take off on 26 Adar A (March 6, 2024) with 4 weekly flights. The flight schedule until December 2024 is already open for sale. Tickets will be sold on the company’s website and at travel agents at a special price starting at $999.
El Al has a codeshare agreement (CODESHARE) with the Japanese airline ANA, which allows El Al passengers to fly to many destinations within Japan.
Shlomi Zafarani, VP of Commercial and Aviation Relations at El Al: “The line to Tokyo was launched very successfully last year and won the sympathy of passengers during the months of its operation. In light of the growing need among Israelis to go on airing flights and among the business sector that continues to manage various working relationships in Japan, we decided to expand the line’s activity to a full annual format that includes up to 4 weekly flights. Japan is considered a country sympathetic to Israel, and will join the list of destinations to which the company operates direct flights. We continue to adjust the flight schedule according to the emerging need among passengers, and to be the air bridge between Israel and the world.”
