The original was to be launched in 2019, but the first development of the power unit, with the aim of being an establishment on the main road, gained a great deal of bottom. It is interesting that, despite the speculations, Mercedes really stayed with the unit derived directly from its famous F1 engine. It is therefore a strong sub-square cylinder with a capacity of 1.6 liters (bore 80.0 mm and stroke 53.03 mm) switched by a turbocharger, which in Mercedes-AMG One is helped by a total of three electric motors.

One electric motor is a set of turbochargers and in addition to collecting energy from the turbocharger, the blower can rotate so quickly and for 100,000 min-1, no function takes over the flow of exhaust gases. The turbocharger itself can supply pressurized air at 3.5 bar. Dal electric motor is connected directly to the crankshaft and the other two take care of the front axle drive.

However, the internal combustion engine was adapted for use in power cars and to meet all emission standards. The drive parameters are enough to accelerate the Mercedes-AMG One from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds, to 200 km / h in 7.0 seconds and to 300 km / h in 15.6 seconds. Top speed in 352 km / h, ie close to the F1 monopost in a configuration for low pressure circuits, such as Monza or Baku.

The transmission is brand new and Mercedes has developed a seven-speed sequential gearbox with an integrated self-locking differential. The gearbox system is also electro-hydraulically controlled by the tylamel carbon clutch. Probably not surprisingly, the AMG One uses all-carbon monococks and the body is equipped with a relatively sophisticated system of active aerodynamics, including the active rear seat and flaps above the front fenders. The driver configures whether he requires maximum pressure or minimum air resistance.

At speeds from 50 km / h, it generates a noticeable pressure, which of course increases with speed. However, the manufacturer does not state the maximum achievable pressure value. Just a reminder that the rear seat is equipped with a DRS system, which pushes the rear by 20%, but at the same time reduces the resistance and makes the car two reach maximum speed.
