Konawe Resort Police Takes Action to Prevent Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) Through Fogging and Public Awareness

One of the Konawe Resort Police’s efforts in anticipating Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (BDB) is carrying out fogging or fumigation with insecticides which aims to kill mosquitoes, especially carriers (vectors) so that they can cause dengue fever.

Konawe Police Chief AKBP Ahmad Setiadi, SIK said that efforts to prevent dengue fever were in collaboration with the District Health Service. Konawe Sector of disease prevention and control, especially infectious diseases.

“The fogging or spraying targets were carried out at the Konawe Police Headquarters, Unaaha Police Headquarters and Konawe Police Chief Rujab,” said AKBP Ahmad Setiadi, SIK, Sunday (28/01/2024).

The Konawe Police Chief further added that apart from carrying out fogging, his party had also given an appeal to the public about the importance of keeping the environment clean.

“The public is advised to clean places that can become nests for mosquitoes, such as puddles of water, waste and water reservoirs that are not tightly closed,” he added.

On that occasion Ps. Head of the Konawe Police Department of Health, Aipda Syafruddin, SH, revealed that Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (BDB) is a disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted through the bite of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.

“This disease is characterized by fever and accompanied by bleeding,” he said.

Regarding the prevention and control of dengue fever, Aipda Syafruddin, SH explained that efforts are always directed at breaking the chain of transmission so that it can prevent the number of illnesses, deaths and suppress the spread of cases.

Then, to prevent dengue fever transmission, start with yourself, wear long clothes that cover your skin. Whether it’s when you’re at home or when you’re out of the house at any time. To prevent dengue fever more effectively, first spray permethrin on shoes, trousers/skirts, socks and clothing.
