KONAMI Sues Cygames for “Pretty Derby” Game Content, Demands Compensation and Operations Suspension

Cygames announced today (17) that KONAMI has sued the game system and some program content for “Pretty Derby” through a statement, claiming 4 billion yen in compensation and requesting the suspension of operations.

CyberAgent, the parent company of Cygames, also posted a response statement (web link)。

Konami filed a lawsuit with the Tokyo District Court on March 31. The content of the game system and some program content of “Racing Horse Girl Pretty Derby” are suspected of infringement. Konami therefore demanded 4 billion yen in damages from Cygames and demanded that “Racing Girl Pretty Derby” stop operating.

CyberAgnet expressed its position through a statement, emphasizing that “Racing Horse Girl” does not infringe Konami’s patent rights, but Konami did not accept Cygames’ statement.

Cygames stated that it will clarify in the next litigation process; if the performance is affected during the process, it will be made public when needed.
