“We will check the alibi, we will check how, who are the witnesses and so on, the officers who handle who and so on,” said Benny to reporters after attending the trial of Brigadier J’s family report at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Jakarta, Wednesday (20/7) night.
The investigation will be carried out through examination of witnesses and health workers who carried out the PCR test on Sambo.
Furthermore, Benny said that Kompolnas would also find out the exact location of the two-star general at the time of the shooting of Brigadier J.
“We will find out his whereabouts,” he said.
It is known that when the shootout occurred, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo was not at his official residence in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta. Sambo admitted that at that time he was out of the house to undergo a Covid-19 test.
Previously, South Jakarta Police Chief Kombes Budhi Herdi said that both Bharada E and Ferdy Sambo’s wife were at home for quarantine. Meanwhile, Ferdy Sambo left the house for a Covid-19 test.
“So, like the other families, the person concerned has also isolated himself first while waiting for the results of the PCR test he did with other families,” said Budhi when explaining the case last week.
The National Police Chief has formed a special team to investigate the shooting incident of Brigadier J. In addition, Komnas HAM is also conducting an independent investigation into the case.
Currently Sambo has been deactivated from his position as the Head of the Propam Police Division. The National Police Chief said the deactivation of Sambo was to ensure that the investigation into the shooting of Brigadier J was carried out properly and to avoid public speculation.
