Komplett.no – Lays flat

If you are looking for a new PC, you have probably experienced how many models there are to choose from. It can often seem that there are far too many, and it is not always as easy to be wise about expressions such as CPU, SSD and RAM, or to keep track of Windows versions.

We received a tip from a reader who was going to buy a new PC and had seen a ThinkBook G2 from Lenovo. The specifications appeared to be completely identical, but one costs NOK 1,000 more than the other.

It turned out that the only difference was that the cheapest PC came with Windows 10 Pro, while the more expensive one has Windows 11 Pro.

Free to upgrade

Upgrading to Windows 11 (Pro) from a compatible PC with Windows 10 (Pro) is freebut probably not everyone has caught on.

The tipster, who does not want his name in print, says he bought the cheapest one, and when he turned on the PC, a message quickly appeared about the possibility to upgrade to Windows 11. Free.

He says that he spoke to Komplett’s customer service, who allegedly said that they did not know whether the most expensive could be upgraded for free.

Promises a refund

Kristin Hovland, communications manager at Komplett, tells DinSide that it is deeply regrettable that there was a price error related to the product.

– The error is being corrected now. Those of our customers who have paid too much will be contacted and refunded as soon as possible.

DinSide has been in contact with the reader who tipped off about the price error, who thinks it is a good solution from Komplett to refund customers who have chosen the most expensive model.

This is not the first time this year that there has been a reaction to prices at Komplett.no. Earlier this year wrote the website Tek.no that the online store displayed an 80 percent discount on an ergonomic chair, which was not true.

– A serious mistake has been made on our part, Hovland told Tek at the time.
