Kompany is still at Championship level, doesn’t deserve to train City

Burnley

Vincent Kompany feel unworthy to be a successor Pep Guardiola Of Manchester City. Because the level of training is still far from Pep.

Kompany is enjoying his time as coach again. After 2.5 years as coach of Anderlecht, Kompany has been in charge of Burnley since last summer.

Thanks to Kompany’s cool hands, Burnley went fast and are now at the top of the Championship Division with 12 points ahead of Sheffield United in second place.

If nothing gets in the way, Kompany is predicted to be able to advance Burnley to the Premier League next season. Kompany’s achievements so far have earned him praise, including Guardiola.

His former manager at City said Kompany was a quality coach and deserved to be his successor. It so happens that Guardiola’s contract at City will expire in 20225.

Regarding Guardiola’s praise, Kompany does not want to bother. Because he felt he was not fit to handle City because his training experience was still minimal.

“I think City should be coached by the best manager in the world, and that’s not me,” Kompany told BBC Sport

“I’m the Championship manager, that’s my level. We’re still far from there, and until that happens (becoming a manager in the Premier League), I’m still the Championship manager. My focus is to bring Burnley better and we’ll see,” Kompany continued.

“Maybe that proves even more that I’m still far from his level, but I keep working hard to get better over time.”

“They have the best manager in the world and I hope he lasts another 10 years. If not, then they have to look for the best manager in the world after Pep. I myself don’t deserve to be in the ranks of the best managers, so I have never thought anything about it (replacing Pep).”
