Komnas HAM recommends that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) restore the status of KPK employees who did not pass National Insight Test (TWK). Jokowi respects the Komnas HAM recommendation.
“The president respects the recommendations of the Ombudsman and Komnas HAM,” said Presidential Special Staff, Dini Purwono, via text message, Tuesday (24/8/2021).
The recommendation from Komnas HAM itself was received by the State Secretariat last week. Dini confirms Jokowi’s stance regarding polemics TWK KPK same as before.
“The President’s directive regarding the transfer of the status of KPK employees has been conveyed previously and has not changed,” said Dini.
In addition, said Dini, Jokowi respects the legal process in the MK and MA regarding polemics TWK KPK this. Jokowi expects a fair decision.
“The president hopes and believes that the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court will give the fairest decision, in the not too distant future, in accordance with applicable legal provisions and the community’s sense of justice,” said Dini.
Komnas HAM Recommendations
Previously, Komnas HAM stated that the process of transferring the status of KPK employees violated 11 human rights. Komnas HAM also made a number of recommendations to President Jokowi.
“We made the conclusions that have been conveyed, in the end we stated that there were 11 allegations of human rights violations, from the whole process including the allegations of human rights violations that we saw occurred in the KPK TWK process, so we then issued recommendations,” said Komnas HAM chairman Ahmad Taufan.
