Kombiverkehr: New connection between Duisburg and Rotterdam

Frankfurt / Main. With the addition of the Rotterdam Europoort P&O terminal, Kombiverkehr KG has expanded its intermodal offer with truck and rail between Duisburg and Rotterdam. This emerges from a current press release from the service provider for combined freight transport. With Moerdijk Container Terminals, the Rail Service Center in Rotterdam and the newly connected Europoort P&O Terminal, three locations with a short sea connection are available to customers from the forwarding and logistics sectors.

Terminal Rotterdam Europoort is connected to the eu.NETdirekt + network four times a week in each direction with a connection in the Ruhr area from and to Duisburg Ruhrort Hafen (DUSS), from where there are several gateway connections to national and European business locations. For example, connections to and from Leipzig, Munich, Ludwigshafen or Hamburg in Germany are possible. In international traffic, the Scandinavian countries as well as Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, France, Spain, various Balkan states, Greece and Turkey can be reached by rail. According to Kombiverkehr, there are no restrictions in the profile for semi-trailers and containers. The days of operation of the new connection are as follows: from Rotterdam Europoort P&O to Duisburg Ruhrort Hafen (DUSS) Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and in the opposite direction Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

New connection affects direct train between Duisburg and Lovosice vv

According to Kombiverkehr, the new connection between Duisburg and Rotterdam Europoort P&O will also have an impact on the existing direct train between Duisburg and Lovosice vv, as these are closely linked in terms of production technology. Kombiverkehr has therefore been able to increase the train between Duisburg and Lovosice vv, which has been reduced to one or two weekly departures due to the Corona, to a total of four round trips. Via the terminal in Lovosice, there are forwarding options to Brno, Přerov and Ostrava in the Czech Republic and to Bratislava and Haniska in Slovakia. Via the participating partner Bohemiakombi, pre- and post-carriage to the Lovosice hub terminal or even delivery of the transports directly by truck to the recipient in the Czech Republic and Slovakia are possible.
