The project started in 2016 at the initiative of the Fund for Social and Cultural Initiatives and is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection The Russian Federation, Rospotrebnadzor, Rosmolodezh, the All-Russian public movement “Volunteers-doctors”, the Union of Rectors of Russia and other interested organizations.

According to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, over the past two years, there has been a steady downward trend in the spread of HIV infection in the country. Thanks to the joint efforts of the state and society, effective measures to prevent the spread of infection, including within the framework of the All-Russian action “Stop HIV / AIDS”, there is a decrease in the proportion of newly diagnosed persons with HIV infection aged 15 to 20 years to 0.8% in 2019. Also, over the past three years, the number of cases with an established diagnosis of HIV infection at the early stages of infection has increased, which significantly increases the effectiveness of antiretroviral therapy.

However, in 2019, more than 80 thousand new cases of HIV infection were registered, more than 28 thousand people died due to underlying and concomitant diseases. Therefore, it is necessary to continue active joint actions of the state and all interested public organizations.
