Man arrested for sexually assaulting cow in Kollam Chithara. Sumesh, a resident of Irapil, was arrested by the Chitara police. The police say that the accused is addicted to drugs.
Sumesh harmed the dairy farmer Salahuddin’s cow. When Sumesh came to untie the tied cow in the rubber plantation, he saw him sexually assaulting the cow. Then after Salahuddin made noise, Sumesh ran away from here and entered the house. Months ago, another cow of Salahuddin had died. Sumesh had later called out publicly that the cow had been tortured and killed. Thinking that it was said under the influence of alcohol, he did not go forward with a complaint. After witnessing the sexual assault today, the police was informed. There are complaints that the accused, who is addicted to drugs, goes to the houses of only women and commits violence during the day time. It is also common for Sumesh to show obscene antics towards school children. Locals say that the suspect’s method is to save the police by showing his mental state.
Chitara police reached the spot and arrested Sumesh from inside the house. The police said that they will conduct a detailed investigation into the complaints. Those who committed similar crimes in Chadayamangalam Poredam and Mayyanad areas were arrested earlier.
