Kokļu diena / Diena will be held in the Ethnographic Open Air Museum of Latvia

Already traditionally in the summer, koklet players’ ensembles meet at the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia to delight the visitors of the museum with their concert programs. Ensembles from Đadaži, Babīte, Baldones, Baloži, Daugmale, Engure, Kolka, Ķekava, Madona, Riga and Zvejniekciems will participate in this year’s Kokli Day.

On July 3, the concerts will be played in the Latvian Ethnographic Museum’s Borne Church, Usmas Church and the Brethren’s Church or Hernhūtis Association House from 10.00 a.m. to 14.00 The concert programs include pieces from the XXVII General Latvian Songs and XVII Dance Festival woodwind concert “Laika upe”: covers of Latvian folk songs and original pieces for woodwind ensembles.

Valda Bagāta, head of the wood ensembles of the region of Pierīga, says: “This concert will be a long-awaited meeting of the wood ensembles of various regions after a longer break, where you will have the opportunity to both enjoy playing together and hear the performance of your colleagues.”
