“Fire” against the ND for the way in which it closed the Commission of Inquiry on the crime in Tempi, launched the SYRIZA rapporteur, Vassilis Kokkalis.
“Society rightly believes that nothing is going to emerge from the Commission of Inquiry regarding the responsibilities of political figures, because no witnesses were summoned, but it stopped the work without the case file having arrived”, he noted in his statements in the peristyle of the Parliament.
He also underlined that: “from the reading of the Indictment it is clear that the need to summon the essential witnesses is clear because it appears that Mr. Karamanlis was informed about the lack of safety of the railways. It results from statements of TRENOSE senior executives”.
To a question about whether there will be responsibilities concerning the former Minister of Transport, he replied that “They will be evaluated and will arise. We are obliged to gather all the evidence. To do this, we must be given the opportunity.”
“We ask for the obvious. Summon the essential witnesses to the Examination. Mr. Genidounias, Mr. Tsalidis, Mr. Katsoulis, Mr. Triandopoulos for the second crime, that of tampering with the scene of the accident. We ask to be given the opportunity to tell the truth to Greek society”, he added.
