Kojima Productions invests in film and TV series | MovieZine

Game creator Hideo Kojima and his studio Kojima Productions are embarking on film and television production, with a newly started team in Los Angeles.

If you’ve heard of the game director Hideo Kojima, who is best known for his “Metal Gear Solid” games and “Death Stranding”, do you know that his games can be very cinematic and that he likes to talk warmly about the film medium on social media and in interviews. –

In the near future, his dreams may come true, then Kojima Productions starts a new department focused on music, television and film in Los Angeles. It announces Gamesindustry site. –

The new team will be led by Riley Russel, who has worked in various departments at Playstation for almost 30 years.

– The team aims to expand the reach and awareness of the productions that are under development at Kojima Productions and to make them even more a part of popular culture. We are really happy and look forward to working with the very best talent we can, in all entertainment industries, he says.

Yoshiko Fukuda, Head of Business Development at Kojima Productions, agrees.

– Finding new ways to entertain, engage and offer value to our fans is important in a fast and ever-changing world of storytelling. Our new division will take the studio to even more areas that present our creative stories beyond games and to open up ways for our fans to communicate and immerse themselves, she says.

So far, Hideo Kojima has not commented on the new team or specifically what they will produce, but I can imagine that he is pissed. The games he worked on are often very cinematic and he is clearly inspired by various films such as “Blade Runner” and “Full Metal Jacket”, and likes to use established actors in his games such as Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen.

What would you like to see Kojima Productions produce? What is the best Hideo Kojima game?
