During this year’s Summer Game Fest show Sony and Kojima Productions unveiled a new version of Death Stranding, called Director’s Cut. A little over a month later, however, game manager Hideo Kojima says that he is not a fan of the name.

The developer legend took over Twitter to point out that “Director’s Cut” is often used about films where the director was not allowed to include everything in the original edition. Kojima believes it does not fit as well in this context, as the new content was produced as extra content after the original was released.
– For the game, it is not about what had to be cut, but about what we have made in addition that we can now include. […] So in my opinion, I do not like to call the new version a “Director’s Cut”, said Kojima.
Not entirely unexpectedly, the statement has led to questions about who then chose the title. Many fingers are pointed at Sony, which is both the game’s publisher and which has another Director’s Cut version on the way for Ghost of Tsushima.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut also features new matches and features, more equipment, more missions and a separate car lane. The release comes to PlayStation 5 on September 24th. Those who own the PlayStation 4 version can upgrade for $ 10, and it will be entirely possible to transfer storage files.
System Shock also gets a new version.
