Koisdorf Mixed Choir Concert: A Night of Musical Power and Emotion

After the first chairman Joachim Fiege warmly welcomed the guests, the colorful program of the concert started with the lively hit ‘A Compliment’. A special highlight was the following original composition ‘Wherever you go’. Singer Birgit Nechterschen wrote the text and choir director Sven Scheuren wrote the score. In other songs such as ‘Hinterm Horizont’, ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Thank You For The Music’, music was sung and celebrated as a source of strength, hope and joy in life.

Following the choir’s motto ‘It’s all in the mix’, Sofia Alcantara on the flute and Sven Scheuren on the piano presented two virtuoso songs by Jules Massenet and Béla Bartók.

In the second part of the concert, the choir focused the music on the meaning of nostalgia and emotions. An attractive atmosphere was created with songs such as ‘La Mer’, ‘Old Fever’, ‘My Heart Will Go On’ and ‘Tha sikn wove tha sîth’. And the children’s speakers Tim and Lina Schroeder in the song with the message of peace made it even more special.

The later flute sonata by Francis Poulenc captivated with its naturalness and beauty of sound.

This was followed by songs dedicated to the departure, be it to ‘Westerland’ or with the goal of ‘Go West’. Of course, the big city on the Rhine could not be missed, because here you can find ‘Dat Hätz from the world’ and you can make ‘real friends’ there too.

The audience asked for more encores with their stormy applause. The singers said goodbye to this special evening with the song ‘Oh Champs Élysées’ and ‘We are moving into peace’.

At the end of the concert, Joachim Fiege praised and thanked Sofia Alcantara and the other musical guests: Johannes Schüller, who accompanied the choir with his guitar, as well as Daniela Fuhrmann, Linda Nelles, Michaela Nelles, Sonja Schmickler, Thomas Bauer and Bernhard Arzdorf for vocal solos and drums.

Only the unceasing enthusiasm and constant work on the sound of the Koisdorf mixed choir with choir director Sven Scheuren made this concert possible. Not forgetting the many helpers who prepared the hall, decorated it and took care of the group. The evening ended socially in the Wendelinusstube and initial inquiries were already made about the next concert in Koisdorf.
