ENTERTAINMENT – “traitors” and “ungrateful”. Viewers who are fans of Koh-Lanta expressed their anger this Tuesday, February 27 after the elimination of William, candidate for the yellow team who had nevertheless proven himself essential for survival on their island.
Dean of the season, the 62-year-old specialist in life in hostile terrain had convinced the yellows to accept him in their group, when he arrived for the adventure a few days after the other candidates. And William proved his strength, by finding plenty of food for his comrades, by making a harpoon for fishing or by going to fetch water.
His kindness also quickly moved viewers. But maybe he was too nice? Despite his efforts on the camp, having been the most enduring of his team with a bamboo on his head during the comfort test (won by the opposing team), and even having agreed to move away from the others at night at because of his snoring, he was the one who was eliminated.
Not a good enough swimmer
The cause, according to the yellows, is his poor performance during the immunity test. Obviously not as comfortable in the water as on land, William caused his team to fall far behind and once again lost to the reds.
After the ordeal, the whole team gathered to debrief and the sixty-year-old was widely identified as the weak link. “I didn’t express myself well about my nautical abilities. This is not a story about being outspoken or trying to hide something. It’s just that I must not have expressed myself correctly.”he told the cameras a little later.
The yellows did not forgive him despite his explanations and unanimously decided to eliminate him during the council. A decision that really did not please viewers, as you can see in the messages below posted on X.

In an interview given to West France published this Tuesday evening at the end of the show, William looks back on his failure. “I had warned them that I was confident in the land games but that I had more difficulty in the aquatic events because I cannot swim fast”he admits.
The adventurer seen in Wild: the survival race on M6 in 2018 adds: “ It’s not just me that we lost, there were other factors. (…) I think that this excuse of the aquatic test is perhaps also bad faith on their part to free me. »
