He started with a 4-0 win, followed by a 3-0 win. But the results have been disappointing in recent weeks. And so FC Barcelona, which is led by Ronald Koeman, is being criticized.
“But I still hear that people are happy”, the Dutch trainer answers in the run-up to the Champions League meeting with Dinamo Kiev.
“Of course it is not enough if you take two of the twelve points”, he refers to the last four league matches with two losses and two draws.
But the trainer looks beyond his abacus and twelfth place. He watches the development of his partly newly to be built team. “The impression we make, the changes and the opportunities that young players get, that’s positive. But we have to win more.”
Koeman has no problem with Messi
According to Koeman, things mainly go wrong in the completion. Barça creates enough, but does not score. When you think of goals, you naturally think of Lionel Messi. But the 33-year-old captain is only on one goal after six league matches.
Quique Setién, the fired predecessor of Koeman, said in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El País last weekend that he places Messi in the category ‘players who are difficult to coach’.
