President Barcelona Joan Laporta talk about the decision to fire Ronald Koeman. Laporta believes the decision to fire Koeman was right.
Ronald Koeman was appointed as Barcelona coach in August 2020. In his first season, the Dutch coach failed to bring Barcelona to LaLiga champions and only finished third despite presenting the Copa del Rey trophy.
Barcelona’s pace with Koeman in his second season began to falter. Koeman was eventually sacked by Barcelona in October 2021 and replaced by Xavi Hernandez.
Not long ago, Ronald Koeman talked about his dismissal. The former Dutch national team coach felt left out by Laporta and was not given enough time to work.
Joan Laporta himself assessed that his decision to fire Ronald Koeman was the right one. Laporta even felt that the decision should have been taken sooner.
“I had my doubts after the first season, but out of respect for him, we tried (to see how it went),” Laporta said. Brand.

“I will always remember Koeman for his goal at Wembley, as a coach who had the courage to field young players. If he is injured, hopefully it will disappear,” Laporta added.
