Rafael van der Vaart does not think that the loss of FC Barcelona is attributable to Ronald Koeman. The future of the trainer is hanging by a thread after the Catalans’ 3-0 defeat at Benfica.
Joan Laporta, club president of Barcelona, gets the wind from Van der Vaart. “He is the main culprit of everything,” says the analyst at Ziggo Sports. “He has brought Koeman into uncertainty from the start. First see if you can get a replacement and if you can’t find one, he can stay. That is not a basis for working together, is it?”
Van der Vaart would resign if he were Koeman himself. “Maybe he should just say he thinks it’s been nice. I just don’t think he does, Koeman hates that chairman so much he wants every penny, but if you like Barcelona you have to leave. It is It’s an unbelievable shame, because I think he did a really good job with a very mediocre team.”
