Former Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has been appointed as the new Dutch national team manager.
The coach will take over in January 2023 and replace Louis van Gaal, who will not be renewed following the side’s quarter-final elimination from the 2022 World Cup.
Koeman’s contract will run until the end of the next world championship in 2026.
59-year-old Koeman played for the Dutch national team as a player for 11 years and became the European champion in his composition. He already worked as national coach from 2018 to 2020. Under his leadership, the Netherlands reached the final of the League of Nations.
