Kochi: Temple officials arrested in Tripunithura blast. The accused were arrested from Munnar. Nine accused, including the festival committee president, have been arrested. They will be brought to Tripunithura Hillpalace station in the morning.
The accused went into hiding when the police registered a case in the blast. The police had conducted a state-wide search for them. The police found that the ammunition was stored for making firecrackers in violation of norms. The police had denied permission to store large quantities of ammunition in the residential area. They delivered the ammunition in violation of this.
A case has been registered against the accused on charges including intentional homicide. Two people were killed and many others injured in the blast in Tripunithura Churakad. Four seriously injured people are undergoing treatment at Kalamassery Medical College.
