The department for education and culture of the city of Koblenz actively supports the local establishment of the federal funding program “KulturPass”. On the one hand, the cultural and school administration office informs supporters of the independent scene about the possibilities of participation, on the other hand, the municipal institutions register on the portal set up by the initiators. All young adults equipped with a KulturPass can redeem their budget of 200 euros from June 15th at the Ludwig Museum, the Mittelrhein Museum, the music school, the city library, the Koblenz Theater and the adult education center. “The Kulturpass is a great opportunity for our institutions to address new target groups and to increase their level of awareness after the lengthy pandemic phase,” says Dr. Margit Theis-Scholz, head of the department for education and culture in the city of Koblenz. In this context, the city particularly points out the extensive range of offers for cultural education for young adults.
Background:
The KulturPass is a federal government program that supports young people in Germany in getting to know and experiencing the diversity of culture in the country. All young people who turn 18 in 2023 will receive a virtual budget of 200 euros after registering, which can be used within two years via the KulturPass app. Culture providers can place a wide variety of offers on the digital marketplace via a web platform. Young people can discover, reserve and use these in the app from mid-June. With the help of the KulturPass, cultural providers have the opportunity to become digitally visible and to inspire with their regional offer. The KulturPass offers include: concerts and stages, museums and parks, cinema, books, sound carriers, sheet music and musical instruments.
